Workshop on Clinical Image-based Procedures:

From Planning to Intervention

October 5, 2012, Acropolis Convention Center, Nice, France

Call for Papers (Final Program !)

PDF version
There has been considerable interest over the last years in the development and evaluation of new translational techniques for clinical image-based planning and interventions at the cutting edge of modern procedures in the hospital. This workshop aims to fill the gap between basic science and clinical applications by focusing on the clinical translations of state-of-the-art methods with a special emphasis on image-based planning and interventions.

Work that is submitted to this workshop should go beyond the proof-of-concept for a specific algorithm or method. Instead, it should be clearly linked to a specific clinical application and either be tested on clinical data or be evaluated by clinical users. Thus, this event aims to bring together world-class researchers and clinicians in the field of image-based interventions and strengthen the link between the computer scientist working in medical image computing and the surgeon, interventional radiologist or radiation oncologist.

Topics

  • Current challenges and emerging techniques in image-based procedures
  • Strategies for personalization of patient models to support interventions
  • Clinical translation of image-based techniques for planning and intervention
  • Identification of parameters and error analysis in image-based procedures
  • Intra-operative navigation and tracking: tool tracking, organ tracking, and tumor tracking
  • Inter- and intra-modality registration (e.g. pre-operative and intra-operative data)
  • Visualization methods for operation planning
  • Multimodal image-based planning and guidance
  • Computational anatomy and image analysis for operation planning and intervention
  • Clinical applications in open and minimally invasive surgery
  • Strategies for clinical validation of image-guided systems
